The Colors of Fall

It’s a cold Friday night and all I feel like doing is sitting in my sweatpants with a cup of hot cocoa and reading until I fall asleep.  ...Yes, I realize that 22 year old Val would be very disgusted with 32 year old Val for sitting in sweatpants on a Friday night, but I realize now that 22 year old Val didn't know a darn thing.
So I will share with you some of the beautiful scenic pictures I have been taking over the last week.
If you’ve never been to Illinois in the Fall, then you don’t know what you’re missing.  Fall is when we really shine here in the Midwest.
I love it. Everywhere you look, it looks like a painting with beautiful trees, farmers harvesting and pumpkins galore.  In fact, Illinois is the world’s biggest pumpkin supplier.  It’s true, so we take our annual fall trips to the pumpkins patch very seriously.
Here are just a few pics to let you see what I am referring too..
This tree is just starting to turn…beautiful.

I love old barns.

Looking straight up into the can see the tops of the trees starting to turn.

I love the way the sun has streaked into the forest and highlighted these trees.

Walking through the pumpkin patch..

They’re ready!

I told you I love old barns.

Well, that is all for now.  I will be taking many more shots over the next few weeks, I am sure. The trees are steadily getting more colorful and the temperatures cooler. I love Fall!
Happy Friday!
